Merry Christmas everyone!
As the year comes to a close, I want to spend some time to reflect on Darkmoon’s first year in business and discuss the future, as well as provide some shipping and fulfillment updates for those of you ordering during the holiday season.
Holiday Orders
Starting immediately after posting this blog post, all orders made until around December 28th will be unfulfilled until that date. I will be traveling with my in-laws during that time and I will be unable to provide fulfillment service during that time. I will still be available for customer support, but this may be delayed. After fulfilling orders on December 28th (or around that date), I will again be unavailable until around January 3rd, as I will be traveling with my family again. I appreciate your understanding while I spend time with my family this Christmas.
Reflecting on 2024
This year has been incredible, truly. I cannot express the amount of gratitude I have for all of the support I have received from my thousands of customers across dozens of countries. Just know, even now, after thousands of orders, I still get a big grin every single time my phone lights up with a new order. Your support has allowed me to pay off student loans, medical bills, and more that had loomed over my family for many years. The returning customer rate blows industry standard out of the water and has been a true compliment to me and the work I put into Darkmoon 3D.
The Darkmoon 3D Discord Server has also been a point of immense joy to me. Starting it up, I wondered if it would be a waste of time and would live mostly empty with an occasional message each day. That’s not what happened—at all. We now have over 500 members, with well over 100 active members that chat about tons of different topics all through the day. Topics range from Bambu Lab printers to maker hobbies to network administration and everything in between. I love tuning in each day and reading through everything that has been discussed. The Darkmoon community has also been great with helping troubleshooting printing issues, both related to Darkmoon 3D build plates as well as general printing issues. I’ve learned so much from our community. If you’re reading this and not a member, what are you waiting for?
2025 - What’s next?
I have a lot planned for next year. I don’t want to give too much away, but we are working on a mod for Bambu Lab printers (Mostly P1/X1 series) right now that will unlock a lot of possibilities. It’s in the early testing stages now but keep your eyes out for more info in Q1 of 2025.
Darkmoon is also preparing for the upcoming “flagship” Bambu Lab printer to be released early 2025. According to leaks, the Bambu Lab H2D will be a large printer, likely 320x320x345mm, and looks to have multiple new features. According to Bambu Lab, we can expect the price tag to be pretty high for this printer, but I’m ready to purchase one on launch day and get right to work developing build plates for the next generation of Bambu Lab printers. Exciting times are ahead, no doubt.
Closing Thoughts
I just want to take this moment to thank you all—once again—for all the love and support you’ve given me and Darkmoon 3D. I truly love the work I do and I cannot wait to see what the future holds.
