Best Build Surface I've Ever Used

The plate is really great and performs as advertised. The adhesion it provides really is better than a standard gold PEI, even after being freshly cleaned. Can't say enough good things about ig

Great plate!

I have the ICE player and G10 plate and this is a great middle of the road between the two. Great adhesion, but still good release. Wonderful purchase!

Satin Plate Review

bought an ICE plate from dark moon about two months ago and have been using it constantly. Lots of positive reviews have popped up all over so I didn't really take the time to make my own. A few days ago I got an email from Dark Moon about the release of the new Satin plate, a smooth plate that offers a satin finish on my prints AND will support nylon so i knew i had to try it out and ordered it instantly. After less than a week of me ordering it arived at my door well packaged with a sticker in the box.I must say it has exceeded my expectations.

The satin build pate consistently delivers a flat, matte bottom surface layer on all my prints with exceptional adhesion. I’m working with PLA, PETG, and ABS, the results have been consistent across them all. I have been turning my AUX fan on for some PLA prints. ASA was a challenge to remove but eventually i got my print to pop off with a little freezer time without using a plate knife to remove. I will say this bed seems prone to scratching.

As someone who frequently prints with PA6-GF filament, I was thrilled to find that the Dark Moon Satin Build Plate performs exceptionally well with this material. The adhesion is reliable, and the bottom finish remains consistent. Glue stick is an absolute must with PA materials in my experience with other plates and I find this plate no different. I do not have the G10 pro plate so I can not make a comparison.

I did not clean this plate off before my initial test and it preformed very well. Some spots had questionable ripple marks on the first layer, a quick trip to the sink for a dish soap scrub and i have not had the issue again. This plate is a fingerprint magnet so I treat it like a gold textured PEI plate when it comes to handing. Over all a good maintenance experience so far. After using the Dark Moon Satin Build Plate, it has become my go-to choice for various filaments that I want a matte finish on. Ill be using it mainly for keyboard face plates. The versatility and reliable performance make it a valuable addition to my 3D printing setup and it will make me consider a smooth plate far more often than i would have in the past.

If you’re looking for a build plate that combines a flat matte finish with excellent adhesion, the Dark Moon Satin Build Plate is in my opinion the only choice. It has certainly earned a permanent spot in my arsenal of 3D printing tools!

Dark moon satin works, it just works!

I printed with PLA, PLA plus, PETG, ABS, ABS – GF and all of them printed flawlessly! No failures whatsoever. I did use glue on a larger ABS – GF print and it took me 30 minutes to get the brim off of the Plate! (and yes, I have a few scratches and vanishes on the plate to show for it ) If you’re going to use glue, especially nano, I would use it sparingly. No warping whatsoever. The key with ABS is cooling it slowly. When the plate was hot, all the edges were intact and on the plate. When it cooled off, the brim curled up. It then slid right off. The bottom turned out pretty smooth with a little bit of texture. See the pics on bambu ABSGF. There are some glue marks on the bottom of the poop can.
