Impressing the un-impressable

I’ve got about 75 hours of machine time on this plate now, I wanted to really wring it out before I gave my thoughts.

I have a Darkmoon Ice plate for the Bambus, and while it’s a good plate, I’ve never felt like it was the superhero people made it out to be. It’s pretty good, but I don’t know that I’d buy another one.

When I added the K2 Plus to the fleet, I decided to give the G10 plate a shot. Would it be “expensive” or “costly” (there IS a difference between the two).

After running multiple materials and projects, I can say that this plate is definitely worth what I paid for it. The best example is the saucer section for Fab365’s Enterprise-A which I know from personal experience warps like a mother trucker on the join lines.

Turned out FLAWLESS. And when I say that, I am being super-picky. I mean it was FLAWLESSS on the join lines.

No glue required, although I print hot (65 on the bed). ASA was great as well with 110 on the bed and chamber heat on.

I will mention that I don’t dry my filament and I leave it laying out all over the place like a psychopath, so getting those results with ASA was impressive.

In short, this thing is Hot Shit, and will be my daily driver for the foreseeable future. I would buy another one without hesitation.

Great job by Darkmoon.

Fantastic Build Plate

Works very well with PETG and ABS. I love that I don't need to use 3D printing adhesive anymore. The parts stay stuck during printing and slide right off the plate when it cools.

Awesome Plate

This leaves a nice smooth bottom surface unlike PEI and the adhesion is excellent. This is my go-to plate for PLA for now on.

The last plate you’ll ever need

Just works with everything, every time. Easy to clean, grips like glue, and leaves a perfectly smooth bottom layer.
